Android 10 is now rolling out to Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3A, Pixel 3A XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel and Pixel XL on all Pixel phones. Users can either wait for the over-the-air (OTA) update to roll out or they can sideload the OTA update files without flashing factory images. For the latest software version, Google broke the 10-year history of naming Android releases after the confectionery and decided to simply call it the next version as Android 10. We will tell you how you can go about getting Android 10 on your Pixel device. Android 10: How to download, install

As we mentioned, if you have a Pixel smartphone - you can either wait for the Android 10 OTA update or check for new updates through Settings> System> System updates. Google has released the Android 10 OTA update files for all Pixel smartphones and you can find them here. These files can be downloaded once to your Pixel phone. Even if your data is not erased in this OTA method, we advise users to back up in any case before taking the plunge.

• Dark Theme

Announced in I/O 2019, Android 10 comes with a system-wide dark theme, which will basically help reduce the battery life as well as save battery life. Users will be able to activate the system-wide dark theme by going to Settings> Display, the new Quick Settings tile, or Battery Saver. In addition to changing the system UI in the dark, supporting apps will also show their new dark theme. If developers don't want to create their own dark themes, they can opt for a new Force Dark feature that allows OS to create a dark version of their application. This feature developer can extend to all versions of their app, meant for older versions of Android.

In terms of privacy, Android 10 brings a brand new privacy category within the settings, and other options in this category include activity controls, location history, and ad settings. • Location Controls

It is also new to include system-provided smart responses and actions in the notification structure of smart replies and actions by inserting them directly into the notification. App developers will be able to provide their own responses and actions. By default, all notifications from messaging applications will allow users to send useful relevant information in a quick reply, or to launch an app such as Google Maps if the received application has such an address.

• Redesigned share sheets

Android 10 has a whole new share sheet, with the UI present when you want to send a snippet of links or text from an app to a specific person or another app. The new sheet makes it easier to use and the more obvious options available. It's also designed to be fast.

The sheet will have a preview of the content at the top so that users can get an idea of what the recipients will see. There is a default style for this, but developers will have the option to customize the preview with rich metadata with thumbnails and additional descriptive text. The overall UI is meant to mimic Android Launcher, with a list of automated suggested shortcuts on the full, alphabetical list of possible actions.

At the backend, developers will have access to a new API to define these actions, and they can prioritize a number of shared actions that occur within the application, which will be displayed first.

• Gesture navigation mode options
