HMD Global, which manufactures and sells Nokia-branded smartphones, has released an Android 10 update timeline for all its smartphones. The company said in a press release on Thursday that all eligible Nokia smartphones, including Nokia 1, will get stable Android 10 Q The announcement comes after Google's official Android 10 name was released on Thursday.
"With a proven track record in delivering software updates quickly, Nokia smartphones were the first full portfolio from Android Nougat to Android Oreo and then 2-letter upgrade to Android Pie. "We were the fastest manufacturer to upgrade to Android Pie across the range, starting with Oreo," said Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global, in a statement.
"With today's roll-out plan, we're seeing it ready for Android 10 upgrade to Android Pie faster. We are the only creator committed to having the latest Android across the entire portfolio, ”added Sarvikas.
The firm's Android One approach with Google promises that Nokia smartphone owners will get the benefit of a two-year Android OS upgrade and a three-year security update. Currently, Nokia has a total of 17 eligible smartphones, which will get Android 10, though the dates will be different. HMD shared in a press note that all devices including Nokia 1, Nokia 8 Sirocco will get Android 10 by Q2, 2020.
